Cannery Casino Hotel announces summer concert schedule

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Cannery Casino and Hotel brings iconic performers to The Club, including heavy metal bands Queensrÿche and Skid Row and the timeless R&B group Kool & The Gang. June entertainment will also feature free live entertainment at Pin-Ups Bar and Victory’s Bar & Grill all month long.

Saturday, 16 June

Queensrÿche
Heavy metal band Queensrÿche burst into the music scene in 1982 with the release of their self-titled, four-song EP “Queensrÿche,” quickly garnering international recognition. The band’s iconic style and sound impressed fans as they sold-out venues across the world. Queensrÿche followed up their success with the release of their first full-length album “The Warning” in 1984 and the album “Rage for Order” in 1986.

In 1988, the band released another monumental album, “Operation: Mindcrime,” which became one of the top 10 bestselling concept records of all time, setting the stage for continued sold out performances around the globe. With the release of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful album “Empire” in 1991, the band earned multiple Grammy Award nominations and won the MTV Viewers Choice award for the No. 1 hit “Silent Lucidity.”

During the next 10 years, the band continued to release albums and tour the world to sold out audiences. Throughout the band’s career, Queensrÿche has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, continuing to break new ground as they push their creative process.

Skid Row
Best known for their musical rebellion and high-energy sound, Skid Row hit the heavy metal scene in 1986, enjoying major success after releasing their first certified multi-Platinum album “Skid Row.” The album included Top-40 hits “I Remember You” and “18 and Life.” The band’s second album, “Slave to the Grind,” included the hit single “Monkey Business,” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard charts.

In 2013 and 2014, Skid Row released the first and second chapters of its “United World Rebellion” albums and are currently working on the third and final chapter of the collection.

The band’s current lineup includes Rachel Bolan, Snake Sabo, Scotti Hill, Rob Hammersmith and ZP Theart.

Kool & The Gang

One of the longest-touring R&B groups, Kool & The Gang is known for their funky style and 25 Top 10 hits, including “Celebration,” “Cherish,” “Joanna,” “Jungle Boogie” and “Too Hot.” The band has released several platinum and gold-selling albums, including “Ladies Night,” “Celebrate!,” “Something Special,” “Emergency,” “Light of Worlds” and “Forever.” In 2004, Kool & The Gang released the album “The Hits: Reloaded,” collaborating with several popular hip-hop and R&B artists, including Lil’ Kim, Sean Paul, Ashanti and Blackstreet.

Throughout the group’s career, Kool & The Gang has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide and won two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards and has influenced R&B music for nearly 50 years.

Pin-Ups Bar
The Pin-Ups Bar is at the center of all the action at Cannery, paying tribute to post World War II pin-up girls, offering free live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays in June.
