Canadian smoking ban helped Detroit casinos

DETROIT, Michigan – As reported by the Detroit Free Press: "Gaming control board officials say a smoking ban and construction at Casino Windsor were partly to responsible for a spike in revenues at Detroit's three casinos in September 2006.

"Revenues for the MGM Grand Detroit Casino were up by 14.93% from last year. Motor City Casino revenues were up by 12.75% and Greektown Casino revenues were up 13.70% from last year…"
