Canada's second largest lottery payout this Friday

24 February 2010

TORONTO, Ontario -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The chance to win Canada's second largest lottery payout is here. This Friday's LOTTO MAX draw sits at a $50 million jackpot plus nine additional MAXMILLIONS prizes worth $1 Million each, which is now the second largest prize money offering in Canadian history.

"We're excited for Ontarians buying Lotto Max tickets this week. Now that we are in MAXMILLIONS mode, there are more opportunities to win a large prize with each ticket," said Greg McKenzie, Senior Vice President of Lottery at OLG.

When LOTTO MAX reaches its jackpot cap of $50 million, the draw moves into MAXMILLIONS mode. This means that players have the chance to win the jackpot as well as a number of additional $1 Million prizes. This Friday's draw will include nine separate prizes of $1 million each. Winning a MAXMILLIONS prize is similar to winning the main jackpot - a player must match all seven winning numbers drawn for that prize.

"If no-one wins the jackpot this week, there is the potential that we will move to a record prize money offering exceeding $60 Million next week," said McKenzie.
