Can you take the heat?24 January 2008UNCASVILLE, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Starting Thursday, February 7, SolToro Tequila Grill at Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort challenges diners' taste buds to the ultimate trial by fire. Every Thursday, the popular Mexican restaurant turns up the temperature by offering an all new intensely fiery "Can you take the heat?" menu. Served all day every Thursday, Chef Edwin Mateo will prepare blazing, spice-filled Mexican specialties rated on a three degree level, challenging guests to beat the heat. The first degree, "very hot & spicy," includes Cochinita Pibil Taco - pork marinated in achiote paste, citrus, and a blend of spices and slowly roasted in banana leaves. The second degree, "ludicrously hot & spicy," includes Pollo Caliente - grilled chicken with fiery chile de arbol salsa. The third and most powerful degree, defined as "steam-coming- out-of-your-ears hot & spicy," includes a Quesadilla Picante with macho salsa and grilled jalapenos; Camarones Endiablados - grilled shrimp tossed with devilishly hot chipotle salsa; and Cinco Chiles Burrito - skirt steak with five feisty chiles including poblanos, jalapenos, serranos, habaneros, and chipotle peppers. Heat-seeking customers: take caution! These signature dishes may make heads sweat, bring tears to the eyes, and bring about instantaneous screams of "SolToro!" Suggested signature cocktail parings are an ideal way to relieve this towering inferno of flavor; choose from SolToro Sangria with 24-hour marinated citrus fruit and pomegranate liquor and the SolToro Signature Margarita with Don Julio Blanco, freshly squeezed lime juice, and Gran Gala.
