California Tribe Proposes Casino by Airport

OAKLAND, California – As reported by the Associated Press: "An American Indian tribe will lay out its proposal to build a casino near Oakland International Airport tomorrow, but competing casino proposals and community opposition could kill the project.

"The Lower Lake Rancheria Koi Nation -- based in Santa Rosa -- is the latest tribe to pitch the idea of building an urban casino in the San Francisco Bay area.

"…Mayor Jerry Brown had previously expressed interest in the idea of a casino in Oakland until fairly recently…"
