California Tribe Distributes Gaming Revenues

CALIFORNIA – As reported by the Oroville Mercury Register: "More than one million dollars will be distributed to local agencies by Butte County's Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committee (IGLCBC) for Fiscal Year 2004/2005, according to Cris Navarro, the Butte County Compliance Officer.

"The committee met on Friday and announced the awards to grant proposals they had received from local government jurisdictions. Nine of the proposals were granted tribal sponsorship and were considered by the committee.

"…In selecting grants, the IGLCBC must follow legislatively established priorities, specifically: Law enforcement, fire services, emergency medical services, environmental impacts, water supplies, waste disposal, behavioral health, planning and adjacent land uses, public health, roads, recreation and youth programs, and child care programs. All grant uses must address an impact of Indian Gaming…"
