California Racing Industry Presents to Senate9 June 2004AUSTRALIA -- As reported by the Herald Sun: ``Pokie parlours will be ordered to tear down hundreds of garish gambling signs under tough new gaming regulations. ``A Bracks Government briefing paper seen by the Herald Sun reveals Tattersall's and Tabcorp venues will be limited to just one billboard of 2sq m. Every one of the state's 534 gaming pubs and clubs will be affected by the restrictions, expected to be enforced from July next year. ``...But Crown casino has been excluded from the bans -- a move that has enraged rival pokies stakeholders. ``The document reveals the Crown logo has been exempted because it refers to the entire complex and not just a poker machine venue. ``...Country and suburban venues will be allowed directional signs in car parks, but will be banned from using the Tatts Pokies or Tabaret slogans more than once..." |
