California Lottery Official Posed as Reporter

CALIFORNIA – As reported by the One BakersfieldThe Schwarzenegger administration has condemned one of its lottery officials for masquerading as a reporter to gather ammunition in a legal battle over whether the multistate Mega Millions game is constitutional in California.

"An anti-gambling group that sued to halt the lotto game said the development has damaged the lottery's defense. The state Attorney General's Office, representing the lottery, was still conducting an investigation late in the day and had no response.

"'The governor absolutely believes people need to represent themselves according to their professional affiliation,' said Margita Thompson, a spokeswoman for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger…"
