California Gambling Committee to be Formed8 March 2004CALIFORNIA – As reported by the Visalia Times-Delta: "Supervisors will decide Tuesday when to begin recruiting people to sit on a committee that will decide how to spend as much as $400,000 of Indian gaming revenue in Tulare County. "Counties where Indian gaming is conducted are in the process of establishing Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committees as a result of Senate Bill 621. "…The committee will consist of seven members, two representatives from the county selected by the Board of Supervisors, two representatives selected by the tribe and three selected by the tribe and the county. "It will be responsible for developing the application policies and procedures for distributing grants, assessing applications and setting reimbursements for county administrative costs, a staff report said. |
