California casino to continue $1 million poker tournament9 June 2011COMMERCE, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Original Million Dollar Tournament, in only its second year, already is one of the most anticipated events in the world of poker. One after another, Commerce Casino, the world's largest poker casino, continues to provide poker players around the world with lucrative and exciting events. The Million Dollar Tournament, with its $250,000 first-place prize from the total guaranteed purse of $1 million, is June 20-25. The finals in the No Limit Hold 'em event will be June 26. More than 3,500 players are expected and the appeal of the event is no surprise. Where else can a $335 buy-in result in a $250,000 payoff? There's plenty more to entice poker players in the Million Dollar Tournament. Additional $335 re-entries are available daily to those knocked out of the event. "The event has plenty of allure. There's the huge $250,000 payoff for the $355 buy-in. That's very unique. And how we format play is a popular component. "It's not a re-buy event. It's a re-entry tournament. Players can re-enter any of the following days." The Commerce Casino expects there will be plenty of re-entries, with perhaps as many as half the field playing at least more than once in a bid to make the final table. The top 2 percent of the daily entries will advance, a number projected to be between 9 and 15 each day. Nightly $40 satellites already are underway with the winners qualifying for the big event. The Commerce Casino tournaments have been embraced by poker players, professionals and amateurs alike, and have led to a growing tournament schedule at the home of poker.
