California Casino Opponents Respond to Schwarzenegger Statement19 May 2005SAN PABLO, California – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Dean Marshall, small business marketing consultant and San Pablo community member and co-Chair, East Bay Coalition Against Urban Casinos issued the following statement: "This is a farce. The Governor has said he would not support casino projects if there is no local support and no public benefit. Casino San Pablo's expansion with either Class II or Class III slot machines has been opposed by the County and cities up and down I-80. In addition, Casino San Pablo would cost the Bay Area $193 million per year and cause unprecedented traffic and social problems. "This proclamation is a waste of paper." |
