Caesars Sportsbook releases player props for 2022 NFL Draft

15 April 2022

(PRESS RELEASE) -- As April reaches the midway point, the 2022 NFL Draft is all of a sudden on the horizon. With just two weeks to go until the draft takes place in Las Vegas, Caesars Sportsbook just released 24 player draft position props ranging from Aidan Hutchinson to Boye Mafe.

If you need a refresher, here is an example of how player draft position props work. Both Ja’Marr Chase and Penei Sewell closed with an over/under of 5.5 ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft. Chase was selected fifth by the Bengals, meaning those who bet the under on his 5.5 won their bets. Meanwhile, Sewell went seventh to the Lions, with over 5.5 bettors rejoicing on that one.

It’s not too often you see a 1.5 hanging for a player draft position prop, but the top selection hasn’t been locked in ahead of time like in previous years. Aidan Hutchinson, the current favorite to go No. 1, is set at 1.5 with the under at -275 and the over at +225.

Three players expected to hear their names called early opened at 3.5. For the two offensive linemen listed there, their overs are favored—Evan Neal (over -170/under+140) and Ikem Ekwonu (over -125/under -105). Whereas for defensive lineman Travon Walker, his under is a heavy -240 with the over at +190.

Kayvon Thibodeaux is next at 5.5 (over -115/under -115), with Charles Cross at 7.5 (over -140/under +110) also nearby. Two defensive backs sit at 8.5: Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner (over +180/under -220) and Kyle Hamilton (over -200/under +170). The lone quarterback available for this prop as of now is Kenny Pickett at 9.5 (over -175/under +145), where he’s joined by Jermaine Johnson (over +120/under -150).

The first pass-catchers are displayed at 10.5, with Garrett Wilson (over -105/under -125) and Drake London (over -125/under -105) each there along with cover man Derek Stingley Jr. (over -125/under -105). Jordan Davis at 13.5 (over -160/under +130) and Jameson Williams 14.5 (over -115/under -115) are close by too.

Five more players have their draft position prop currently in the teens—George Karlaftis at 16.5 (over -160/under +130), Trevor Penning at 16.5 (over +110/under -140), Chris Olave at 17.5 (over -130/under +100), Trent McDuffie at 17.5 (over -115/under -115) and Devin Lloyd (over -125/under -105).

Another potential first-round pick opened in that range as well but has seen his number shoot up since. Georgia defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt was originally placed at 14.5, however, he is now positioned at 23.5 with the over at -170 and the under at +140. In the first 24 hours these player draft position props have been up at Caesars Sportsbook, Wyatt’s over leads all players in both total number of tickets and total dollars wagered. His over has been so popular that it has nearly drawn double the money than the second-highest side (Penning under).

The players with the highest numbers as of now? That would be Andrew Booth Jr. at 27.5 (over -115/under -115), Tyler Linderbaum at 28.5 (over -115/under -115), and Boye Mafe at 30.5 (over -115/under -115).
