Cabazon Band of Mission Indians, Fantasy Springs partner to assist local seniors

8 October 2013

INDIO, Calif. -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians and Fantasy Springs Resort Casino have partnered with Desert Samaritans for seniors for their Fall Senior Clean Up Day!

The Clean Up Day, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, will pair volunteers with Coachella Valley seniors who are in need of some help around the house.

A large group of employees from Fantasy Springs has volunteered to donate a little elbow grease to get the job done. The assistance given can come in the form of yard work, house cleaning or basic maintenance like changing a light bulb or replacing a battery on a smoke detector.

"Many of our clients don't have the money to hire someone and may be disabled or too frail to do the projects themselves," said Desert Samaritans CEO Doug Morin. "The lasting impact of seeing clearly through a window, opening a cupboard or closet and seeing it neat and tidy, or not being embarrassed by a cluttered, dusty apartment brings smiles to their faces and enhances the quality of their lives."
