Bwin.party will pay Spanish back taxes21 May 2012SPAIN -- Bwin.party will pay $42 million in Spanish back-taxes as part of its bid to acquire an online gambling license, Reuters reported. The back-taxes are due according to historic tax laws from 1966 and 1977 which only applied to offline gambling activity in the country, the report explained. Online gambling companies, that previously had customers based in Spain, are facing retroactive tax assessments if they wish to be considered for an online gaming license, Reuters reported.
