Butte County objections upheld against tribe's casino plan14 July 2010WASHINGTON AND CALIFORNIA -- The Mechoopda Tribe face a setback in their gaming ambition as a court rules casino approval decision was "arbitrary" on their planned casino, The Lexington Herald-Leader reported. The proposed casino require the tribe to buy land outside "the original rancheria" and developing the casino with Station Casinos, the report explained. Butte County raised significant objections to this plan and fought against it, according to The Lexington Herald-Leader. The judge released her decision, which was full of literary references to Herman Melville's 1853 novella "Bartleby, the Scrivener: A Story of Wall Street", the report noted. |
