Buses, Casinos a Good Fit30 March 2004BILOXI, Mississippi – As reported by the Mississippi Sun Herald: "Every day, tour buses bring hundreds of people to Coast casinos, people like Yolanda Weeks of Magnolia Springs, Ala. "'I've been coming here for about two years,' said Weeks, who had just arrived at Beau Rivage by a Hotard bus. "…The bus ride also gives a chance for Weeks to chat with other gamblers. Not only are there regulars who ride the bus to Beau Rivage four or five times a week, but snowbirds who stay in Gulf Shores or Destin, Fla., during the winter. "…According to an ongoing study of Coast tourism by Plog Research of Northridge, Calif., 9 percent of visitors come by tour bus. "Erroll Hotard, general manager of Hotard/Grayline Biloxi, said his company takes at least four buses a day to Beau Rivage. "…Passengers pay between $7 and $10 to ride a bus to Beau Rivage. In exchange, the casino gives them $15 worth of free slot play…" |
