British racetracks eyeing edge seekers2 November 2009ENGLAND -- British racecourses are looking to benefit from "in-running betting" according to a report in The Guardian newspaper. With companies like Betfair permitting bets while the race is in progress, customers are not content to place bets based on delayed images transmitted by satellite and racing channels and are instead embracing on-course bookmakers and in-running punters to relay the action to them. Racecourses see the potential in boxes being consistently occupied and hired by such low maintenance "in-running gamblers" instead of struggling to fill it according to The Guardian. The Gambling Commission on the other hand have begun to raise their eyebrows, the report suggested. |
