British Poker Awards site goes live9 August 2012LONDON -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Organizers of The British Poker Awards have announced that the nominees have been chosen for the forthcoming awards ceremony to honor the best in U.K. poker, and once again it’s now down to public vote. Voting is now live at www.thebritishpokerawards.com, where the public can get behind their favorite nominees in 11 categories, including “Best Cash Player,” “Best Tournament Player,” “Best Online Player,” “Best Poker League,” “Best Poker Forum” and “Poker Personality of the Year.” Nominees were decided by a committee of industry experts, including representatives from Bluff Europe, PokerNews.com, Poker Strategy.com, as well as “The Voice of Poker” himself, Jesse May. The ceremony itself will be held on 17th September 2012 on board the HMS President, moored on the Victoria Embankment on the Thames. Tickets are available at www.thebritishpokerawards.eventbrite.co.uk for £20. “It’s been a great year for British Poker, with lots of really young guys coming through and established guys, like Sam Trickett, cementing themselves as worldwide superstars of the game,” said organizer Michael Caselli. “The British Poker Awards is part of the wider London Poker Festival, which is all about celebrating the game in this country, so it’s only natural that the poker community itself should decide who gets the awards.” |
