British Columbia Track Signs Casino Deal8 March 2004SURREY, British Columbia – As reported by the Surrey Leader: "Surrey will get 10 per cent of the net gaming revenues from a casino coming to Fraser Downs, and with a provision for an extra split the city's take could be $3 million annually. "The city has inked a 20-year lease agreement with Fraser Downs, identifying the city's portion of the casino revenue from 300 slot machines coming to the track at 17755 60 Ave. in Cloverdale. "As part of the standard agreement with the province, Surrey will receive 10 per cent of net gaming income, which is the total amount of casino profit, less all fees and operating costs. "…Fraser Downs is hoping for an April 5 or 6 opening at a temporary location at the track, which is undergoing a $25-million retrofit for the permanent establishment." |
