British Columbia City Wants Casino

BURNABY, British Columbia – As reported by the Province: "New casinos are coming to Langley City, Surrey and Richmond -- and now Burnaby wants one, too.

"Gateway Casinos is proposing a 100,000-square-foot destination-style casino for the Still Creek industrial area between the Lougheed Highway and Trans-Canada Highway.

"It hopes to open with 600 slots next year, an increase of 300 on the nearby Radisson Hotel location in Burnaby, which it would replace.

"…Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan said the time is right for Burnaby's casino to move to a more spiffy place…"
