Breeders' Cup to change qualifying process

KENTUCKY – As reported by Business First: "Breeders' Cup Ltd. and six of the nation's racetracks, including Keeneland in Lexington, Ky., and Churchill Downs Inc.'s Arlington Park in Chicago, will launch a set of Breeders' Cup qualifying races next year.

"The winners of each of the 24 qualifying races, collectively called the 'Breeders' Cup Challenge,' automatically will qualify for the corresponding divisional race in the eight-race, $20 million Breeders' Cup World Championships, according to a news release.

"…Breeders' Cup Ltd. will support the new program with a national marketing campaign that will launch next summer…"
