Boyd Honored

LAS VEGAS -- About 200 people attending the 10th annual American Gaming Summit Tuesday in Las Vegas paid tribute to William Boyd, chairman and chief executive of Boyd Gaming Corp., Las Vegas.

Boyd, whose company owns the Stardust hotel-casino, Sam's Town, three downtown Las Vegas properties and two Henderson casinos,received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the gathering of casino executives.

"To be honored by my peers in this way is the highlight of my career," said Boyd, who paid tribute to the 18,000 Boyd employees nationwide in his acceptance of the award.
