Bournemouth casino talks resume25 May 2007BOURNEMOUTH, England -- As reported by the 24Dash News: "Councillors in Bournemouth are to negotiate with a property group to modify controversial plans for a casino in the seaside town. "The out-going Liberal Democrat council signed a contract for the casino with developers Trevor Osborne Property Group on May 3, the day it lost power in a landslide election. "An investigation into the signing has revealed no rules were broken and the newly-elected Tory council is hoping to modify the plans by negotiating with the Osborne Group. "...Former deputy leader of the council Adrian Fudge has said the casino is only 6% of the scheme, which would bring up to £60m private investment to the Dorset town and include restaurants, a family attraction, a tourist information centre and a £13m face-lift for the grade II listed Pavilion..." |
