Botswana: Gaborone Hotel Casino to Open On Friday13 September 2006GABORONE, Botswana -- As reported by Everything Africa: "If everything goes according to plan, the Gaborone Hotel (GH) casino situated at the bus rank will be up and running by the end of this week, after meeting the requirements of the Botswana Casino Control Board. "Although it was granted a licence in June last year, the hotel still had to meet the principal requirements of the board - of having a reliable partner and being financially sound. "The hotel has been able to convince the Botswana Casino Control Board although the board is still concerned about the location. "...By yesterday, the hotel was still installing casino equipment, worth around P2 million, supplied by its South African partner, African Casino Equipment. The installation is part of Phase 1 of the casino project that will see the installation of 50 slots machines but no tables. "The second phase is expected to start early next year, which will entail the installation of tables..." |
