Boston mayor objects to phase-in approach to Suffolk Downs casino27 August 2012BOSTON, Massachusetts -- The Boston Globe reports that Mayor Thomas M. Menino is objecting to plans by Suffolk Downs to develop its proposed $1 billion casino resort in phases, with slot machines and table games coming first and resort-style amenities to follow at a later date. The mayor told the Globe that Boston wants a full-resort destination that provides comprehensive economic benefits for the area. |
