4 March 2004

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "The new Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa paid its first regulatory fines on Wednesday for two violations at the gaming tables.

"On Aug. 3, a month after it opened, Borgata refunded $15,000 to a blackjack player who complained after losing two hands of $20,000 blackjack (including one double down) in which he was allowed to exceed the posted table maximum by $5,000 on each hand.

"Borgata agreed to pay $10,000 for the violation at Wednesday's Casino Control Commission meeting.

"Two months later, Borgata allowed $16,000 in cash to pile up on a baccarat table because the drop box was full of cash from players buying chips.
