Borgata Exec Criticizes Smoke-Ban10 March 2005ATLANTIC CITY – As reported by the New Jersey Courier Post: "Any effort to ban smoking in casino hotels would be misguided, the top executive of the resort's newest gaming hall said. "'It's an ill-conceived idea'" said Robert Boughner, CEO and president of Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. "Borgata's nonsmoking gaming areas are the least-patronized sections of the facility, Boughner said. "…The Senate Health Committee on Monday is poised to take up the New Jersey Smoke-Free Air Act, which would ban smoking in most indoor public areas, including workplaces, restaurants and bars. Casinos, fraternal organizations and private clubs would be exempt. "An Assembly version of the legislation would extend the ban to the casinos…" |
