Borgata Drives Up Atlantic City Revenues

NEW YORK – As reported by Reuters: "Atlantic City casino revenue rose 2.8 percent in the stormy month of December, thanks to the new Borgata resort, which gained ground lost by existing rivals, New Jersey state data showed on Friday.

"December revenue from casinos in Atlantic city rose to $320.4 million, boosted by the Borgata, which opened last July. However, the remaining casinos saw revenue fall 9.3 percent, the Casino Control Commission said.

"…For the year, Atlantic City revenue rose 2.4 percent to $4.5 billion.

"…For the market as a whole, December table win revenue rose 11.7 percent to $94.6 million while slot machine revenue fell 0.5 percent to $225.8 million…"
