Border Survey Proposed to End Casino Dispute

CAMBODIA – As reported by the Bangkok Post: "A senior Cambodian military officer has proposed a joint survey to clearly delineate the border near Chong Sa-ngam checkpoint in Si Sa Ket province.

"The proposal follows claims by Si Sa Ket authorities that a Cambodian casino complex project encroaches on Thai soil.

"Lt-Gen Tia Sot, of Cambodia's defence ministry, said yesterday the five-star hotel and casino construction site was about 190 metres inside Cambodia.

"…The casino project has apparently received approval from Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen…"
