Bookie: Rose Betted from Clubhouse, Dugout

DAYTON, Ohio – As reported by the Daily Dayton News: "Pete Rose told baseball commissioner Bud Selig that he never made his baseball bets from the clubhouse, but one of Rose's former bookmakers, Ron Peters, said Rose made bets from the clubhouse - and the dugout.

"'Rose called me one night to make a bet on baseball,' Peters said Thursday. 'I took the bet and immediately turned on my television. There was Pete Rose standing in the Reds' dugout. So he not only made bets with me from the clubhouse, but obviously from the dugout, too.'

"…Rose's former house guest, close friend, and a guy who transported Rose's gambling debts and collected his winnings, Tommy Gioiosa, said this week that Rose often bet from the clubhouse.

"…Peters told baseball investigators all along that Rose placed baseball bets with him and feels vindicated, although he says Rose still isn't telling the entire story…"
