Bond Doubled for Alleged Gambling Boss

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – As reported by the New Orleans Channel: "One of the suspects arrested in an alleged French Quarter drug and gambling operation is facing a much higher bond.

"Police said Terrence 'Scotty' Border, 62, ran the gambling end of the business at 335 Bourbon St. for owner Mitch Schwartz, 92.

"Border was booked in last week in Orleans Parish on charges of racketeering, gambling, theft, conspiracy and drug distribution. His original bond was set at $145,000, but a judge on Tuesday more than doubled it to $300,000 at the request of District Attorney Eddie Jordan's office…"
