Bonacic Justifies Catskills Casinos18 January 2005CATSKILLS -- As reported by the Mid Hudson News: "State Senator John Bonacic yesterday said he supports casinos in Sullivan County, but whether there should be three or five is up to the county. "Three years ago, the governor won the support of the state legislature for three and now he is proposing five as a means of settling all of the major land claims in the state with Native America tribes. The casinos would be built under the aegis of Indian tribes. "...Bonacic said they are not just about gambling. 'It would be golf, `tennis, spas, entertainment, restaurants, where people could go and enjoy themselves and they don't have to gamble...'" |
