Bob Bittman Appointed to International Game Technology Board of Directors18 May 2000RENO, Nev., May 17 (Press Release) -- International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT - news) has announced the appointment of Bob Bittman, IGT's Executive Vice President of Product Development, to the Company's Board of Directors. "We're delighted to add Bob Bittman as a board member," said IGT Chairman Chuck Mathewson. "Bob spearheaded the development of IGT's S-Plus slot product line and the vast library of games created for it. His corporate vision and product expertise have been instrumental in establishing IGT as the world's pre-eminent gaming machine manufacturer." Bittman joined IGT in 1985 as Marketing Research Analyst and was subsequently named Director of Marketing. He was promoted to Vice President of Marketing in 1988 and was named President of IGT-North America in 1993. He resumed his position as Vice President of Marketing in January 1995. Bittman left IGT briefly and rejoined the Company in March 1996 as Executive Vice President, Product Development. Bittman fills a vacancy on the board created by the retirement of former IGT President John J. "Bud" Russell. Russell joined IGT as Senior Vice President in February 1986, and in June 1987 was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He was promoted to President in February 1988 and was appointed to the board in January 1990. "We're sad to see Bud Russell leave our IGT family," Mathewson added. "Bud has been a strong, steady force through the years of this Company's greatest growth. We wish him nothing but the best."
