Bingo Player Celebrates 100th Birthday at Casino

WASHINGTON – As reported by the Anacortes American: "Surrounded by roses, balloons and a cake adorned with her face, Violet Johnston rung in her 100th year playing bingo at the Swinomish Northern Lights Casino.

"…She has been coming to the casino since it opened 20 years ago.

"Johnston, who is from New Westminster, British Columbia, first came to the casino with friends and has kept returning because she likes the people. And it's handy: A bus picks her up at her door and brings her to the casino.

"Bingo is something Johnston does to 'keep my brain moving,' though she said she doesn't win often.."
