Biloxi Casino Planned

BILOXI, Mississippi – As reported by the Biloxi Sun Herald: "Developers have leased seven acres immediately east of Boomtown Casino where they plan to build a gambling resort.

"The development could make the Gollott brothers landlords to a fifth casino project. Gary Gollott Sr., state Sen. Tommy Gollott and Tyrone Gollott separated the land from their family partnership and leased it to the developers in early August.

"Bayview Resort and Casino Inc. has three principal partners who have done commercial, residential and hospitality developments in Arizona and California. This would be their first casino development.

"The principal partners are John Cooper, vice president of finance, Michael Earl, vice president of development, and Tom Angelo, whose background is in casino management.

"…No name has been decided upon for the proposed casino, and a construction timetable has not been set. The resort would include a condotel. The developers want the city to change its unit density restrictions for areas zoned for casinos. They worry that the restrictions will create conflicts when they abide by state requirements to build a full-fledged resort…"
