Bill would allow some ex-offenders to work at Maryland casinos

3 April 2013

MARYLAND -- A bill, HB 1053, that would reduce restrictions on ex-offenders working at state casino has passed in the Senate, according to a Capital Gazette report.

The bill now needs to be signed by Gov. Martin O'Malley to become law, the report explained.

The legislation would stop the automatic exclusion of prospective employees, who have committed crimes involving gambling or "moral turpitude", the Capital Gazette reported.
