Bicycle Casino Hosts Poker Tournament30 July 2004BELL GARDENS, California – (PRESS RELEASE) -- From July 28th through September 5th, The Bicycle Casino hosts one of their largest poker tournaments of the year, the Legends of Poker! With an estimated prize pool of over $3,000,000, including $430,000 guaranteed prize money in four different events, plus a special "Last Chance" No-Limit Hold'em Series that begins on September 1, and the unprecedented "Poker Fever" that is sweeping the country, this year's tournament promises to be one of the largest poker tournaments in the history of The Bicycle Casino!! Thursday night's Limit Hold'em tournament was the launch of the Casino's landmark tournament. Over 690 poker players began lining up at 5:00 p.m. for their chance to play in a $30,000 Guaranteed event for a mere $120! The prize pool soared to $69,000 and lasted until 4:30 a.m.! Raj Patel of San Jose took the first place prize of $28,840.00 while Khanh Hua of South El Monte won $12,075.00 for second place and Roy McGinnis of Bellevue, Washington won $5,935.00! This event was also the Grand Opening of the casino's newly raised 5,000 sq. ft tent that was constructed to handle the crowds of players who regularly attend The Bicycle Casino's world-famous tournaments. In addition, the casino's poker floor also celebrated the Grand Opening of a newly expanded section specifically designed for the ever-increasing demand for "high-limit" poker games. This Saturday, July 31, the casino is preparing for an even bigger crowd when they open the doors for a 4:15 p.m. No-Limit Hold'em tournament with a $150,000 guarantee that only requires a $330.00 buy-in/entry fee! This Saturday's event is a perfect opportunity to show the world what it's like when capacity crowds descend on Bell Gardens to try their hand at a game that has been made popular by the many Poker television shows that have taken over the airwaves! In addition to this first No-Limit event, there are 40 additional tournaments on the schedule, with buy-ins ranging from $100 to $5000. The final event is the cornerstone of the tournament, the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em Championship will begin on Saturday, August 28th.
