BIA Supports Assistant Secretary's Decision

WASHINGTON, DC – As reported by the Native American Times: "Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs Dave Anderson's decision not to get involved in issues pertaining to tribal recognition and gaming is not a bad thing according to Bureau of Indian Affairs officials.

"'He didn't want to hold anything up due to the appearance of impropriety on his part,' BIA spokeswoman Nedra Darling told the Native American Times.

"Anderson, citing his former ownership in a gaming operation, said he would not involve himself in those issues for ethical reason…"
