Betting fans back Liverpool this season

LIVERPOOL, England -- Despite a woeful performance in last year's Premier League, gamblers are backing Liverpool this season, Bloomberg reported.

The highest quantity of bettors -- a fifth -- are backing the team in bets placed with Paddy Power and Ladbrokes, the Bloomberg report said.

The season begins Aug. 14, 2010, the first Liverpool match is against Arsenal, Bloomberg noted.
