Bet on the Food

ORILLIA, Ontario – As reported by the Toronto Star: "Everyone who has been more than once knows the major rule about how to have a good time at a casino: Only bring cash you can afford to lose.

"But today, you have to add a qualification: Make sure you bring enough bucks to enjoy the food as well.

"Over the last few years, casinos have increasingly crept into gourmet territory. Instead of the traditional cheap buffet, designed to bring in the masses, variety is the order of the day. Anyone who wonders what happened to old-fashioned service, in which you get what you want, when you want it ... well, it's been brought back to life at the world's casinos.

"…Vegas, especially, is going high-end. Once Wolfgang Puck moved into Vegas in 1993, the trend had begun in earnest. No longer would cheap buffet be the only draw.
