Belle of Baton Rouge is land bound20 September 2022(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Louisiana Gaming Control Board granted permission to CQ Holding Company, which acquired Belle of Baton Rouge in May, to move the historic property at 103 France St. on the Mississippi River to land. The board approved the request with a unanimous decision during a hearing on Thursday, 15 September. “We are thrilled with the Louisiana Gaming Control Board’s decision to approve Belle of Baton Rouge’s landside move,” said Terry Downey, president and CEO of CQ Holding Company. “In acquiring this casino, we have looked forward to the tremendous potential in moving the Belle to land. We look forward to serving the Baton Rouge community with new entertainment offerings and eateries that will be made possible by this move.” The decision will set CQ Holding Company’s plan in motion to move the 16,500-square-foot gambling floor ashore, including 350 slot machines and 14 table games into the Belle of Baton Rouge’s Atrium. As part of the remodel, the property will also welcome an oyster bar, café and more within the atrium to create a boutique-style casino. |
