Beau Rivage Casino announces several promotions

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Beau Rivage Resort & Casino announces several promotions in Hotel and Food and Beverage leadership, including the positions of Executive Director of Hotel and Food & Beverage, Director of Beverage, Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Restaurants and BR Prime Manager, at the MGM Resorts International’s Mississippi Gulf Coast resort.

Murat Akan has been promoted to Executive Director of Hotel and Food & Beverage, where he is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Food & Beverage and Hotel divisions, including all restaurant outlets, in-room dining, self-service outlets, employee dining, beverage operations, front services, housekeeping and environmental services management teams. Akan, who was most recently Director of Food & Beverage, earned his Bachelor of Science in hospitality and travel management from the School of Tourism Administration in Mugla, Turkey, and received a certificate of Leadership and Multicultural Working Environment from the American Hospitality Academy in Miami, Fla. in 2008.

Beau Rivage’s new Director of Beverage, Harry Hall, Jr., oversees beverage service at the Pool Bar & Café, EIGHT75 Ultra Lounge, High Limits Bar, Breeze Bar and all restaurant bars and banquet beverage service in his new role. He will also offer strategic direction to the beverage teams. Most recently Hall served as Sommelier after becoming a certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers.

Director of Food & Beverage Evans Tedford, who most recently served as Director of Restaurants, joined the Beau Rivage team in June 2013. In his new role, Tedford is responsible for all restaurant outlets, in-room dining, self-service outlets, employee dining and beverage operations management team. A Mississippi native, Tedford earned his Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Barrett Cobb has been promoted to Beau Rivage Resort & Casino’s Director of Restaurants, where he is responsible for overseeing the functions of all Beau Rivage restaurant dining outlets. Cobb will lead BR Prime, Stalla, Jia, Sports Book & Bar, The Buffet, Terrace Café and in-room dining restaurant leadership teams. Cobb joined the Beau Rivage team in July 2012, most recently served as General Manager of BR Prime. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.

With more than 17 years of experience in various restaurant and hospitality management roles, Corey Boykin has been promoted to BR Prime Manager. Since July 2014, Boykin has served as the General Manager of Jia, achieving AAA Four Diamond Award and Forbes Travel Guide Recommended Restaurant awards each year of his tenure. He earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.
