Basketball Hall Of Fame announces schedule for 2018 Tip-Off Tournament presented by Citi

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the field of teams and brackets for the 2018 Tip-Off Tournament presented by Citi. The annual NCAA men’s exempt tournament sponsored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will take place Friday, 16 November through Sunday, 18 November at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Eight schools will compete in two four-team brackets with campus round games leading up to the Mohegan Sun Arena contests.

Teams scheduled to participate in this year’s Tip-Off Tournament are: George Washington University (Atlantic 10), College of the Holy Cross (Patriot League), University of Michigan (Big Ten), Norfolk State University (Mid-Eastern), Providence College (Big East), Siena College (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), University of South Carolina (SEC) and Stony Brook University (America East).

“With the recent extension of our partnership with Mohegan Sun and the addition of Citi as our presenting partner, we couldn’t be more excited about this year’s event,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Basketball Hall of Fame. “The Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament has cemented itself as one of the best early season competitions and we look forward to hosting this year’s teams and loyal fans.”

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will continue to serve as the host conference for the annual event. The MAAC has developed a strong partnership with the Basketball Hall of Fame, including the addition of a MAAC exhibit in the Hall of Fame museum in Springfield, Massachusetts.

General public tickets will go on sale Friday, 7 September at 10 a.m. ET via all Ticketmaster outlets and the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Pre-sales for participating schools begin Friday, 1 June.
