Barden wants to move license

GARY, Indiana – As reported by the Gary Post-Tribune: "Majestic Star Casino owner Don Barden wants to use his second gambling license to open a casino in another part of Gary,Indiana, outside of Buffington Harbour .

"State Sen. Earline Rogers, D-Gary, said Barden wants to use his second gambling license to open a casino in another part of Gary or in another part of the state.

"Barden met with state lawmakers from Gary last week in Indianapolis.

"Barden received the second license in 2005 when he purchased the Trump Casino and Hotel.

"…Meanwhile, Gary Mayor Rudy Clay said the extra license should be returned to the city.

"…Moving that license outside of Gary would prove difficult, though.

"Indiana Gaming Commission Executive Director Ernest Yelton said Indiana law requires two licenses to be assigned to Gary…"
