Barden plans to sell Fitzgeralds

PENNSYLVANIA -- As reported by the Pittsburgh Tribune: "Businessman Don Barden always said his planned Majestic Star Casino in Pittsburgh would be the flagship of his gambling empire.

"He's prepared to show just how much he meant it.

"Bond ratings agency Standard & Poor's improved its rating for the North Shore casino yesterday, saying Barden plans to sell his Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel in downtown Las Vegas. Barden would put $35 million of the proceeds toward opening the Pittsburgh slots parlor, said Standard & Poor's analyst Ben Bubeck.

"The sale would take place before Majestic Star's Pittsburgh opening, planned for next May, Bubeck said..."
