Barden criticizes official's campaign22 May 2007GARY, Indiana -- As reported by the Indiana Post Tribune: "Don Barden says a Gary City Council member's campaign to see one of his casino licenses rescinded is 'ridiculous' and fueled by a financial interest in property. "...Barden owns the Majestic Star casinos and both of Gary's casino licenses. He acquired the second license when he bought Donald Trump's casino for $253 million in 2005. "Pratt is asking the Indiana Gaming Commission to rescind one of those licenses, reasoning that Barden needs only one to operate in Buffington Harbor. "...Though Pratt has been vocal about having one of Barden's licenses rescinded, some city leaders disagree with his approach..." |
