Barbados Senator Wants Gambling Study31 May 2004BARBADOS – As reported by the Barbados Daily Nation: "Independent Senator Sir John Stanley Goddard, has questioned whether any 'cost/benefit' study of betting and gaming has ever been undertaken in Barbados. "The former head of the private sector agency raised this concern yesterday in the Senate while speaking on the First Reading of the Arts and Sports Promotion Fund Bill, 2004. "Sir John argued that betting and gaming could become as addictive as alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, cocaine, heroin and other drugs…" |
