Bankrupt Detroit entitled to receive casino revenue for now28 August 2013DETROIT, Michigan -- A bankruptcy Judge has provided some momentary balm to Detroit's financial calamity by ruling for now the city can still receive casino tax revenue, the Free Press reported. The city can access the revenue until the battle with Syncora and the city's fixed rate pension debt is resolved, the report said. The city of Detroit is currently involved in Chapter 9 bankruptcy and cites casino revenue as its most important revenue stream, the Detroit Free Press report explained. |
