B.C. Lottery Corp. pays $400 million to casinos

BRITISH COLUMBIA, Canada -- The B.C. Lottery Corporation facility development commissions (FDC's) resulted in payouts of $400 million to casino operators, according to a report in The Vancouver Sun.

These payments are designed to motivate casino operators with recovery of their capital costs, the report explained.

The FDC payments are tied to the casinos profitability and are intended to motivate the operators to build higher quality properties, The Vancouver Sun report said.
