Avi Resort & Casino delivers 3,000 turkeys this Christmas

29 December 2014

(PRESS RELEASE) -- It’s the giving season and the Avi Resort & Casino & the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe are making sure that thousands of Tri-State area families have a holiday to remember.

Thanks to the generosity of the Avi Resort & Casino and the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe (FMIT), on Monday, December 22, Tribal Leaders and the Avi Casino executive team will be personally visiting over ten local food banks and organizations to distribute over 3,000 turkeys. This is the largest turkey donation in the Tri-State area by a single organization in recent history.

Local food banks and organizations are very excited about the donation. By the Avi providing turkeys, it allowed the food banks and organizations to be able to provide more than just side items and fixings to locals in need. They now have the main course…Turkey!

Groups that will receive turkeys include: Colorado River Food Bank, Salvation Army, Bullhead City Senior Center, Praise Chapel, Harvest Bible Church, Caring Hearts Food Ministry, and St. Vincent De Paul of Bullhead City and Needles, California. Organizations in Lake Havasu City and Kingman will also receive turkeys.

The Tribe and executive team of the Avi Resort & Casino hope this will become an annual tradition in the Tri-State community and look forward to further opportunities to give back.

FMIT & the Avi are proud to have a long history of supporting local civic organizations and schools. This year marked the 6th Annual Toys for Tots Golf Tournament at the Huukan Golf Club which benefits the Boys and Girls Club.

Follow the FMIT & Avi team as they travel throughout the local community to distribute thousands of turkeys through their Facebook page!
